This was another project using my Frame CMS structure, with HTML and Mobile compatibility. Except, this was the first client project to use the third revision of Frame.
I upgraded my system from Adobe CS3 to CS5, which led to a technology upgrade from Flex 3 to Flex 4. The transition wasn't as easy as I had thought. Adobe wanted to scrap the resource heavy MX platform to a lightweight Spark framework. This meant plenty of the features given in MX, did not exist in Spark, unless you programmed it to .. or designed it to.
I didn't want to slap together some ugly Spark based CMS, or keep using the old Flex 3. I wanted to move forward, and made the time (mostly after hours) to re-invent Frame in Spark's strengthened core and give it a brand-spanking new look. Let me say this.. It was a scheduling nightmare.
You'll never find time to work on your own things. You need to just bite the bullet, and do it!
All in all, Habitat 21 came out fantastic and I hope using it was fun, easily and intuitive as I intended it to be.
